Claude Quenard Et Fils

Claude Quenard Et Fils is located in the town of Chignin in Savoie. This exceptional vineyard owes its fame to the constant work of the Quenard family. Originally, the estate belonged to the congregation of the Carthusian Fathers, who sold the farm building and its vines to the Quenard family.

Certified Organic and biodynamic. The objective at Domaine Claud Quenard & Fils is to stimulate the natural defences of the vine by using as low intervention methods of farming as possible. From the use of plants, algae and mineral elements, as well as the minimal use of sulfur and copper in the vineyard, to working closely with the microbial life of their soils, they are leading the way for low intervention wines in the area, of which only a small handful of wineries practice. These styles of viticultural management naturally led them to the study and conversion to biodynamic farming, achieving Demeter certification in 2016.

At 350 meters above sea level, the vines are planted on the steep slopes of the southern face of the mountain “La Savoyarde”. The biodynamic wines of the Gerbelle form a complete and varied range of Savoie wines, made from the different grape varieties typical of this terroir: Altesse, Roussanne, Jacquère, but also Chardonnay for the whites, Gamay and Mondeuse as well as Pinot noir for the reds or rosés. Do not hesitate to discover the biodynamic wines of La Gerbelle, faithfully reflecting the work of the Quenard family and reflecting their constant search for quality: these are certainly exceptional Savoie wines!
