Elian Daros

The Côtes du Marmandais are one of those little-known terroirs and remain in the shadow of the Bordeaux AOCs located only a few kilometers away. They will remain so as long as this AOC seeks to copy its bulky neighbor. Elian Da Ros is a “textbook” that many winegrowers should consider.

He took over the family estate in 1998 and released his first wine in mid 1999.Elian worked with Olivier Humbrecht in the Alsace and also at Grange des Peres in the Languedoc so has an impeccable vinous pedigree, and makes spectacular, precise, and extreme terroir oriented wines. From completely unknown vineyards, Elian Da Ros transformed it in just a few years in a well-known and recognized estate, which sells all of its production in 6 months at prices well above the appellation average.

Today, the estate covers 19 hectares on hillsides on a soil of gravel and clay-limestone. The vines have been cultivated organically since 2000 and biodynamic since 2002.
