Montefiore

The Montefiore have had family ties with the well known philanthropic and wine empire, the Rothschild, who are behind world’s greatest wines Château Lafite and Château Mouton Rothschild. Moses Montefiore was himself a wine lover. He drank one bottle of wine every day, which perhaps is the reason he lived to 101 years!
Montefiore vineyards are located in Judah Mountains, which are often mentioned in the bible and considered to be among the best areas for growing quality grapes in Israel. The conditions of the region are ideals with high slops (up to 800 meters), cool nights and a Mediterranean breeze that contributes to the cooling and the ventilation of the vineyards. Those conditions combined with the types of soil and the winemakers « know how » give birth to the most remarkable wines.
