Tardieu Laurent

Tardieu-Laurent was founded in 1994 by Michel Tardieu and Dominique Laurent, the later is a famous cooper and also makes wine in Burgundy. After releasing their first vintage in 1994, Tardieu-Laurent became one of the top negociants in the Rhone Valley.

Tardieu Laurent produces wines from a myriad of Rhone appellations including; Condrieu, Cornas, Crozes Hermitage, St. Joseph, St. Peray, Languedoc, Cotes du Rhone, Hermitage, Cote Rotie and Chateauneuf du Pape. Tardieu Laurent was also one of the first domaines that strived to use biodynamic farming techniques. As they make wine from purchased fruit, they focus on obtaining the best sources possible with old vines from growers that seek low yields.

It works with a mix of both traditional (varying the amount of destemming) and modern techniques (aging in new oak barrels) that lend the wines a density and clarity to their fruit without sacrificing their terroir. The wines age well, with the wood treatment melding into the body of the wine to let a kaleidoscope of spice, fruit, toast and mineral notes develop together.
